Sorry for the delays in posting, I’m super busy working on some fun and exciting things! I am in the process of doing some reviews for some fresh new products and also creating my own! I promise you’ll be the first to know when we are closer to launch.
Did you do too much shopping during your time at home? Me too. I might have spent like $1,300 at Sephora during their sale earlier this year. 😬 I don’t know if you’re like me, but I’m always looking for the latest and greatest to try out, and I’m super nosey to know about what products everyone else loves. So behold, my current favs:
1. Huda Beauty Silk Hydrating and Nourishing Lip Balm in Blush $28
I am a Huda Beauty fanatic – seriously, it’s probably my favourite beauty brand. But, don’t let that fool you, this balm is amazing. The texture is so smooth and glossy – not sticky at all! Its got a hint of tint but nothing overpowering (still looks good with a makeup-free face.) The holographic packaging is also super fun. This pairs really well over a lipstick to enhance the look of the lips. It retails for $28 Canadian.
2. O’Keefe’s Working Hands $10
This hand cream is the real deal, she is thicc. Since being laid off, I’ve been working at a nursing home, and the amount of hand sanitizer I’ve gone through has dried out my hands like never before. (As Khloe K. says: One of the biggest secrets to looking young is having moisturized well-kept hands.) The cream is super hard to squeeze out of the tube, but you only need a small amount to keep your hands moisturized for hours. It’s non-sticky and unscented, so it is safe for even the most sensitive skin. Many health care professionals rely on this to keep their skin safe and protect against harsh chemicals. I’ve linked the one I use here: https://amzn.to/2O6z4hz
3. Keurig K Mini Plus Dusty Rose $90
Honestly, if you want to buy one thing from this list – buy this. Your future self will thank you. I haven’t overpaid for coffee in a minute! It is so cute (if pink isn’t your colour it comes in several different colours). Seriously, with a Keruig there you have no excuse to not make coffee at home – and yes I know K Cups are expensive, but sometimes the Keruig website has good deals (I bought 8 boxes for the price of 4.) Turn it on while you’re washing your face in the morning, and by the time you come back, it’s done. This model is a single serving style (my only complaint is that I wish the water reservoir was larger). However, it still fits a grande reusable Starbucks cup. My personal favourite k cup is the Van Houtte Pecan Praline and Van Houtte Creme Brulee.

4. Milk Hydro Grip Primer $40
Okay, I’m super late to the party on this one. I don’t know why, but I am always super skeptical about popular products. I never buy them when they launch, which is funny because I usually cave and end up purchasing them later on. I bought this primer when I went into Sephora looking for something to stop my makeup breaking up. I’ve been struggling with my makeup settling into fine lines and breaking up/sliding around. This happens underneath my eyes, on my nose, and around my mouth. This primer helps a tonne to prevent that – it truly is super “grippy.” Unlike Benefit Porefessional that feels super slimy and slidy, this one has a nice tacky feeling that is slightly mattifying. I believe this is suitable for all skin types, I am dry/combo, and it was not too mattifying for my skin.
5. Morphe Santa Monica Lashes $4
I was recently trying to hit the minimum spend for free shipping during their 30% off promotion, and I decided to test out their lashes. Although it was super difficult for me to tell the difference between the lashes (they all looked similar), these ended up being great. They definitely don’t look like lash extensions or mink lashes, but they are super fluffy and not too long to be worn every day. They also work great under glasses! The band is light but sturdy, and at $4 a pair (regular price) they are super affordable!
6. Glo Recipe Lip Pop
When this brand came out with its watermelon moisturizer, I was so tempted to get it JUST because of the smell, but I didn’t purchase it because I didn’t think it would do much good for my skin. When the Lip Pop came out, I jumped on it right away! Not only does it smell AMAZING (that same watermelon scent), but it is super moisturizing and has tiny little beads to help moisturize your lips. It gives your lips a slight tint and just makes them look super juicy and healthy. I bought the Dior Lip Glow at the same time, and I must say I much prefer Glo Recipe.
7. Fenty Cheeks Out Blush in Petal Poppin $26
Um, the most controversial product of 2020? There was so much said about the blushes, but I think they are bomb! Granted, I am of fair complexion and don’t like a heavy dose of blush. I found that the colour pay off of the blush was fantastic. I apply this over my setting powder and bronzer, and it doesn’t move my makeup underneath. I use a damp beauty blender and just stamp it on my cheeks, and I’m good to go. Its got a bit of glow (not glitter), which makes it look super natural and you look like you have a glow from within.
8. Steve Madden Valla in Pink Patent ON SALE $100
So pre-COVID I had a girls trip to Vegas planned, and I saw these while shopping one day and it was like they had made me into a shoe. This colour is to die for! This heel is not for the faint of heart. It’s super tall, super patent, super stiletto, and super pointy, but you feel like a boss ass bitch wearing these. I highly recommend these for any occasion when you want to stand out. I wore these for 6+ hours, and for the heel height, I found them supremely comfortable. They will definitely make it to Vegas one day.
9. Amika Reset Pink Charcoal Scalp Cleansing Oil $33
This might be too much information, but I get terrible bumps on my scalp that are itchy or sometimes hurt (I believe it is mild psoriasis). It’s a nervous habit for me to scratch at them, which makes them even worse. I saw this on Sephora’s website when they were having their semi-annual sale and decided to give it a try. It works great! One use during one of my flare-ups and all the bumps are gone. I think it is mostly peppermint oil or extract because it is super cooling, smells strongly of peppermint, and slightly tingly. You apply this to your damp scalp before shampoo and leave it on for a few minutes and then continue your shower routine. This scalp cleansing oil also helps get rid of product build-up and dandruff. If you struggle with the same issues, definitely check it out!
10. Bath and Body Works Rose Water Meringue Candle ON SALE $15
Like every basic girl ever, I am obsessed with Bath and Body Works Candles, and I was so pumped for their sale this year. I ended up being majorly disappointed with the selection and prices at my local Bath and Body Works. (Also, when did Bath and Body Works get so expensive? They were selling the regular candles for like 2 for $45.) This one I picked up was on sale for $15 *eye roll* but smells great. I don’t typically like floral or sweet scents (more fresh and clean), but I love the smell of roses. This one has a slightly sugary sweet scent, but it doesn’t overpower like some B&BW candles (pumpkin cupcake). The smell of roses makes it very summertime, and you could definitely burn it day or night. What are your fav B&BW candles?
Honourabe mention: Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy Palette $65
I couldn’t quite put this as a favourite because it might be one of the most difficult to work with palettes I’ve ever used (super crumbly – especially the shimmers). But this is probably the world’s most beautiful eyeshadow palette, the colour scheme is unparalleled in my opinion. I love it so much I even bought a backup. The pinks, golds, and rose golds are so up my alley, and it’s mostly shimmer shadows, which makes my heart happy. I don’t even know why matte shadows exist. My two personal favourite shades are Barb (super light shimmer) and Rezy (Fuschia shimmer). If you have a Barbie doll colour palette as I do, you need this. Although I would love some tips and tricks on how to apply the shadows and make them stick!
Feel free to comment below what you’re loving right now! Or what you’d like to see me post in the future – feedback is always welcome. I hope you guys have a great weekend and I promise to post more this week.
