America – you did it. You became great again! You brought in a president who is dedicated to reunite a nation divided and a vice president who is an inspiration for women everywhere.
2020 has been a year of incredible misfortune – but it has also ignited change. It has made us angry – which has made us bond together and demand action. We are no longer complacent to what is going on in our world – we are fully immersed in it, even when it isn’t pretty.
I write this as a Canadian who nervously watched the 4 day long election with such anxiety as I saw state after state turn red. I, like many others were so concerned by how close this race appeared to be.
But humanity won.
Love and respect won.
The right to feel safe regardless of your race, sex or beliefs won.
This the 20/20 vision we need, this is the future.
“Let’s speak the truth: People are protesting because Black people have been treated as less than human in America. Because our country has never fully addressed the systemic racism that has plagued our country since its earliest days. It is the duty of every American to fix. No longer can some wait on the sidelines, hoping for incremental change. In times like this, silence is complicity,” – Kamala Harris
I cannot wait to see what January 2021 brings to the world, I truly feel that this has been a life changing election and that it will aid in the world stepping out of darkness and entering into light.
Congratulations America, you did it.
